मिड-कैप म्यूचुअल फंड मिड-कैप कंपनियों के स्टॉक और इक्विटी-संबंधित उत्पादों में निवेश करते हैं। ये मध्यम आकार की कंपनियों के शेयर होते हैं, निवेशक इन्हीं शेयरों में पैसा लगाते हैं। सेबी के अनुसार जिन कंपनियों का बाजार पूंजीकरण 500 अरब रुपये तक है। सेबी द्वारा निर्धारित मानदंडों के अनुसार मार्केट कैपिटलाइजेशन के हिसाब से यह ऊपर से 101वें से 250वें स्थान तक की सबसे बड़ी कंपनियों में शुमार है ये कंपनियां छोटी और बड़ी कंपनियों के बीच में आती हैं, इसलिए निवेश के फायदे और नुकसान दोनों हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, ये कंपनियां उच्च-गुणवत्ता वाले शेयरों की तुलना में अधिकबेहतर रिटर्न प्रदान करती हैं लेकिन वे उच्च अस्थिरता भी प्रदर्शित करती हैं। एक ओर, मिड-कैप स्टॉक स्मॉल-कैप शेयरों की तुलना में अधिक स्थिर होते हैं। दूसरे शब्दों में, आप सावधानीपूर्वक सर्वश्रेष्ठ म्यूचुअल फंड का चयन करके और स्टॉक और सेक्टरों में विविधता लाकर बेहतर रिटर्न प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।

1- अधिकांश वर्षों और लंबी अवधि में मिड-कैप म्यूचुअल फंडों ने लार्ज-कैप फंडों से बेहतर प्रदर्शन किया है।
मध्यम आकार के म्यूचुअल फंड में निवेश करने के कई फायदे हैं।
2-लार्ज-कैप शेयरों की तुलना में मिड-कैप फंडों में तेजी की संभावना अधिक होती है। तेल की कीमतें कम होने पर ये कंपनियां बेहतर प्रदर्शन करती हैं।
3- ये कंपनियां असंबंधित क्षेत्रों में डाइवर्सिफाई करने के बजाय मुख्य बिज़नेस पर ध्यान देकर बेहतर काम करती हैं।
4- हाल के दिनों में, इन फंडों ने बाजार में गिरावट के दौरान भी स्थिर रिटर्न दिखाया है।
किसे मिड-कैप म्यूचुअल फंडों में निवेश करना चाहिए?
निवेशकों को अपने समग्र वित्तीय लक्ष्यों के आधार पर निवेश विकल्पों का चयन करना चाहिए। मिड-कैप फंड उच्च जोखिम सहनशीलता और सात साल या उससे अधिक की निवेश अवधि वाले निवेशकों के लिए उपयुक्त हैं।
मिड-कैप फंड बाजार की तुलना में अधिक रिटर्न उत्पन्न करते हैं। ये ऐसी कंपनियां हैं जो निवेशकों के लिए रिटर्न की महत्वपूर्ण संभावनाएं पेश करती हैं। निवेशकों को ध्यान देना चाहिए कि जब वे मिड-कैप कंपनियों के बारे में बात करते हैं, तो वे आमतौर पर वोल्टास, सुंदरम फाइनेंस और गोदरेज इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड जैसी कंपनियों का जिक्र करते हैं।
मिड-कैप म्यूचुअल फंडों पर इनकम टैक्स
1. लॉन्ग टर्म कैपिटल गेन्स
1 लाख रूपये से अधिक का LTCG से उत्पन्न होता है तो 1 अप्रैल 2018 को या उसके बाद म्यूचुअल फंड इकाइयों या इक्विटी पर 10 प्रतिशत (प्लस सेस) या 10.4 प्रतिशत पर कर लगाया जाएगा। 1 लाख रूपये तक के दीर्घकालिक पूंजीगत लाभ पर छूट दी जाएगी। उदाहरण के लिए, यदि आप एक वित्तीय वर्ष में स्टॉक या म्यूचुअल फंड निवेश से संयुक्त दीर्घकालिक पूंजीगत लाभ में 3 रूपये लाख कमाते हैं। कर योग्य LTCG 2 लाख रूपये (3 लाख – 1 लाख) होंगे ।
2. शॉर्ट टर्म कैपिटल गेन्स
यदि म्युचुअल फंड इकाइयां होल्डिंग के एक वर्ष से पहले बेची जाती हैं, तो शॉर्ट टर्म कैपिटल गेन्स (STCGs) कर लागू होगा। STCGs कर को 15 प्रतिशत पर अपरिवर्तित रखा गया है।
